Welcome to Tigers!

My name is Mrs Padbury and I would like to welcome you to our new Tigers class page.
Mrs Begum will be supporting the class throughout the week.

PE
This term in Tigers our PE lessons will be on Wednesday (indoor) and Friday (outdoor).
On PE days, your child should bring their PE kit with them and they will get changed at school. Please remember: PE kit is a plain white T-shirt, hoodie, plain shorts/joggers and trainers. No football shirts. For safety, please ensure earrings are removed and long hair is tied back on both of these days.

Our swimming sessions will be happening in Spring 1. Swimming reminder: Swimming costume (girls, one-piece swimsuit and boys, swimming trunks), all children must have a hat and a towel.

SPELLING
Practise their spellings - these will be given out on a Friday and tested on the following Friday.

Learning at home
Homework
Homework each week will be given out each Tuesday and children will be expected to bring it back by the following Monday. Homework will be issued based on English and Maths (based on what we have been learning on that week).

Reading
Children will be encouraged to read regularly at home (at least 3 days a week). We will be using Accelerated Reader to make sure that children read books at the appropriate level. When they have read the book, they will be asked to complete a quiz, to check their comprehension and understanding of what they have read. Children will then be given the opportunity to change their books the next day in school. Every child can also borrow a book from our class reading corner as well as a school library.
Reading is essential for children because it builds a strong foundation for language skills, brain development, and lifelong academic success.

TTRS
Children will have the opportunity to use TTRS at school to improve on their multiplication and division skills. It is very important that these are fostered throughout the whole academic year at school as well as at home. Each day children will be able to log on to the website and practice timetables questions.
