Hi everyone and welcome to Puffins!

As we begin a new school year, you can find everything you need to know about our class on this page.

Firstly, this half term will be all about really getting to know each other. We will focus on remembering school rules, exploring our setting safely and making new friends as we welcome everyone back to school after a long time off!

To start this half term we will base our learning on the book 'Man on the Moon'. This story is based on a man called Bob who travels to the Moon and shares his adventure and findings with the reader. We hope to use this story to open the children's imaginations, allowing them to explore the settings (all about Space) and the characters (there are some cheeky aliens in the story!)

We will use this story to base our classroom activities around too, including alien role play areas and designing spaceships/rockets in Art.

Reminders

PE- Tuesday & Thursday. Please can your child come to school in their PE kit on these days, also wearing suitable trainers or plimsoles. If it is warm then sun cream should be applied at home as lessons will be outdoors. School uniform is not needed on this day.

Please ensure that you child has a water bottle every day. Also, please remember to label your child's clothing so it doesn't get lost :)

We will be setting weekly homework for your child; this will either be a Maths, Writing or Topic based activity linked to work that we are covering in class. All homework pieces will be set in your child's homework book and all tasks should be completed in there too. We would like them to bring this book back to school every Monday please, so we can check the homework has been done and then issue the next piece of homework for the week.

We are still asking that you read with your child 3x per week and to continue to record any reading sessions in your child's reading journal.

If you have any questions or messages please either email on our class email address which is teacher.puffins@ranelaghprimary.net or on Class Dojo.
