25.1.21 Grammar
LO: I can spell past and present tense words.

We add -ing to a verb to form its present tense eg walking, and -ed to verbs to form the past tense eg. walked. When doing this, we sometimes double the last letter of the verb before we add -ing or -ed as in this example:
Hop becomes hopping and hopped. Another p was added before the suffix.
For today’s activity, I would like you to learn to spell the following verbs with the -ing and -ed suffix. Don’t forget to double the last letter first!
pop, nap, stop, grab, hug, beg, skip, clap
You could make a spelling poster, write these in shaving foam/sand/flour or think of your own way to remember the spellings like below.
