At Ranelagh, it is our aim to deliver high quality PE and school sport for every child. This develops a lifelong enjoyment and passion for physical activity and sport. All children receive 2 hours of PE each week, which include opportunities to take part in gymnastics, dance, outdoor games and athletics.
As a school we offer a range of extra-curricular sports clubs both before and after school including; judo, basketball, HipHop dancing, football and gymnastics. The children at Ranelagh Primary School have the opportunity to compete against other schools in a number of sports including; football, basketball, cross country running, rounder’s and cricket.
Our school believes that through PE we can develop lifetime skills including; self-confidence, positivity towards physical activity, strength, resilience, cooperation, fair play and perseverance. All important skills for a healthy future!
P.E Sport Premium.
In March 2013 the Government announced that all Primary Schools would be receiving a Sport Premium allocation. This funding is to be used for schools to provide, develop and deliver sustainable high quality teaching in school physical education and sport. At Ranelagh we aim to create a culture that encourages ALL children to be active and enjoy sport, and help foster the aspirations of future Olympians and paralympians. Further information on how we intend to use this premium is shown in our Action plan below.
Please read the information below which gives details of our PE and Sport Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.
