Curious Minds - RE club

My name is Rev’d Kiran Lotay from Triangle Church, and it is my privilege to join staff and students at Curious Questions and assembly each week on a Thursday. Shalom!

At Curious Questions students have the opportunity to drop in, for as long or as short a time as they like on a Thursday lunch time, and spend some time pursuing anything they are curious about regarding faith and life. Everyone is welcome - questions might range from something I spoke about in assembly to the history of the countries our families come from, with a brief diversion through how the world was made and why bad things happen in the world.

Since I am rooted in the Christian tradition, I answer my curious questions by reading the Bible, and so if students have a question about what I do, the stories I tell in assembly, or that something in the Bible speaks to, I can show them how to find their way around the Bible to explore how it might answer their questions. This is not compulsory, not all the students who join us do this, and it does not in any way affect how welcome they are to chat, explore, share and draw to think about the things they’d like to think about.

I am constantly amazed by the minds and hearts I encounter, both in their questioning and their openness to think through for themselves what an answer might be with the resources I can offer alongside whatever resources they already have through family and school. We have a scrapbook that we use to record questions, answers, drawings and imaginings. It is quite full! Here are some of the things you might find if you looked through it
