Suffolk Young Ambassadors

This year we worked with Volunteering Matters and took part in the Suffolk Young Ambassadors Programme.

There were 10 weekly sessions (excluding half-term) to train Young Ambassadors in leadership, citizenship and social action.

Afterwards, the Young Ambassadors were supported to create their own Youth Social Action, to tackle issues important to their community or school. Throughout subsequent weeks, our Young Ambassadors attended fortnightly meetings with key professionals and public figures across Suffolk, who provided workshops in their given professions.

At the end of the youth social action programme, our school was invited to a Suffolk Wide online Youth Conference.  Young Ambassadors presented their Youth Social Action and received awards for their involvement.

However, their participation does not end there. They will be working across charities, social care, education, and health care to continue to express the thoughts of students from our school. In practice, this means that our ambassadors will be part of our Vision for Change and will be instrumental in shaping Suffolk’s services for young people.

This project is aimed at Y5/6 children.
