Friday 12.02.21

It's FRIDAY!

Screen Free Friday (afternoon)
What a half term! Well done to everyone for their hard work for the past 6 weeks. To say thank you, this afternoon will be 'screen free Friday'. No screens, no work, just a whole lot of fun! I have attached some ideas of how you could enjoy 'screen free Friday' but please feel free to do anything that you enjoy and find relaxing.
Have a great week over the half term and stay safe.

Chinese New Year

Martial arts stands for many sports which originated mainly in Japan, Korea, and China as forms of self-defence or attack, such as judo, karate, and kendo.

Today many people across the world take part in karate and judo as a sport.

As today is Chinese New Year, below is an introduction to Karate. Please join in with the lesson but make sure you do not apply what you learn to harm anyone. Rule number 1 of karate class is always to be respectful and have self control so not to use these skills outside of a lesson.

12/02/21 Art - Create your own sculpture

This week we are making our own sculpture that will last.
You will need salt dough for this lesson (swipe across the photo for the recipe). Or you can always use clay.
I would like you to make your own sculpture that you can keep. My ideas were about snowmen or winter tress but you can create anything you like.
Use the techniques from last week to add detail to your model. Some sculptures take a very long time to make!
When you have finished your creation leave it to air-dry overnight.
Then the next day ask your grown up to put it in the oven at 120 degrees until it's dry. This can take 1-3 hours. Please make sure
Once cooled you can paint it if you want to. Some people even seal the paint (once dried) with PVA glue. Why not name and date the base too so that you can remember when it was made.
Get creating! We can't wait to see the final product :)
