Science - Evolution and Inheritance
A unit of Year Six work which we began way back in March was 'Evolution and Inheritance'.
Today I would like you to think about the traits and physical characteristics you have inherited from your family - Do you have your Aunt's musical talent or your Granddad's talent for football... Do you look like your uncle or your Great-Nana?
1. Look at the PowerPoint presentation below:
Focus specifically on the scientific vocabulary. Do you understand the terms used?
2. Can you sort the characteristics given into inherited and acquired characteristics?
3. Think about your own family - Which characteristics have you inherited and which characteristics have you acquired?
How are you different to your siblings, if you have any?
How will you record your findings?
